There is some confusion about Lewis I and Lewis J Eyman. One Lewis J appeared in the 1850 census living nearby Isaac Eyman in Belleville Prairie Township, St. Clair Co.

In 1850, Isaac's mother Susannah Whetstone, of Hardy resided with Isaac and family.
