In 1671 Hans was imprisoned (listed as about 48 years old), perhaps in the basement of Thun Castle, for "re-baptizing" others, a practice much admonished by the local authorities. Hans was with his father living at Ibersheim, Germany in January o
f 1672, age 50. He had left his wife and five children in Switzerland. Hans was called an Anabaptist at the baptism of his daughter Anna in 1672 and was reported as "Out of the Country." Source: Torsten Eymann
