Daniel Eyman, son on Abraham, was first to do orchards in 1800 in the area.

Died on the 25th, at his farm in High Prairie, of cholera, Mr. Daniel Eyman, in the 56th year of his age.
We had enjoyed with the deceased, previous his death, a long acquaintance, and we knew him to be one of the worthiest and most upright citizens with which our State was blest. His gentle disposition, his almost unbounded liberality caused his hous e to be a pleasing and a frequent resort for hosts of friends, and his hospitality to be proverbial. He was one of our earliest settlers, and it would be enough to say of him, that he was one of the best of that noble, rank an hardy race of pionee rs, who first felled our dense forests, and first turned up the exuberant soil of this great State, which bids fair to become the garden spot of the world. We sincerely mourn with his numerous relations and friends for the irreparable loss they ha ve suffered.

This couple resides in what's called Eyman Cemetery
Smithton Township, St. Clair. Located west of Smithton on Turner Hall Road. Located in the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 31 Township 1 South Range 8 West, Smithton Township, St. Clair. Co., IL.
