Steve and Jay were born in Seattle in the early 1940's. This
isn't a current picture ;--) Jay and his father-in-law put years
into hunting down family histories. After several years of scouring
the Internet for information, the persistent work of digging
out deeds, paperwork from courts, and local tax rolls has been
going on for years.
Make no mistake. The Iman's aren't aristocrats, and have almost
always lived humbly. They've been people of integrity and community
contribution though. They've lived in interesting times. Please
help us learn more, and help us to share narratives and historical
notes that people will enjoy for a deeper and richer understanding
of the history of all of our peoples.
Stephen C. Iman
lives in Dana Point California. He graduated from Yale as an
engineer and took a Ph.D. in organizational psychology at
the University of Michigan. He teaches at Cal Poly Pomona in
Pomona, California.
Jay D. Iman (and
his family) lives in Bellevue Washington and has long been affiliated
with the Seattle Public Schools as a grants manager. Jay graduated
from Whitman College with a degree in economics and completed
the MBA in Business Administration at the University of California
at Berkeley. He and his wife Wendy have two kids doing outstandingly
well in their university educations; Brooke and Kyle.
